With the support of the PANOPLY analytical platform, on June 9th we are organising a half-day workshop on the theme of absorption spectroscopy and its applications in the geosciences. The event will take place in the LSCE.

Join us to discover current and future applications of absorption spectroscopy (laser) and to share your experiences with the various items of equipment that you are using in your own lab, or simply come along to meet current users of this technology with a view to future applications.

Thematic workshop:

Experimental innovations in laser sources and optical cavities seek to push high sensitivity absorption spectroscopy to its limits. Its performances mean that it is the technology of choice in the field of gas analysis. This thematic workshop aims to bring together researchers who are currently using and developing this technology in their own labs as well as teams who wish to discover potential future applications of the technology in their own fields of research. After an overview of the most recent innovations and applications, the workshop will be devoted to discussions and feedback from the various users of these technologies within the LSCE and GEOPS.

Part 1: Oral presentations (13:30 - 15:00)

Samir Kassi, Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire de Physique (LIPhy), Grenoble.
Overview of high sensitivity absorption spectroscopy techniques (CRDS, CEAS) and innovations in laser sources and optical cavities.

Mathieu Daëron and Mathieu Casado, LSCE
Applications and development of new CRDS techniques.

Olivier Cattani and Maxence Duhamel,   LSCE, GEOPS
The use of Spectro CRDS and peripheral devices for the analysis of water isotopes.

Aurélie Noret and Bénédicte Minster, GEOPS, LSCE
IRM spectrometry versus laser absorption spectroscopy: Instrumentation experimental feedback.

Olivier Laurent, LSCE
Metrological laboratory of the ICOS European network for the monitoring of atmospheric greenhouse gases: metrology, performance evaluations and technology watch with a focus on water vapour correction in CRDS instruments.

Jean-Luc Michelot, GEOPS
Water isotope analysis using LGR laser absorption spectroscopy (18O/16O, D/H).

Part 2: Round table session and discussion (15:00 - 16:30)

--------------------------------------
We hope to have a good turnout!
